Originally from Bolivia, South America, Maria Miller has lived in the U.S. since age 10. After moving to Hawaii in 1976, Maria obtained her real estate license there in 1978. Over the past 30 years in real estate, Maria has accumulated a vast amount of knowledge and experience, making her one of the top 10% of REALTORS in Hawaii for unit productivity.

Never ready to settle, Maria has continued to educate herself in real estate maters, and earned her Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) designation, placing her among the top 5% of real estate agents in the U.S. Her other real estate designations include Council of Real Estate Brokerage Managers (CRB), Accredited Buyer’s Representative (ABR), National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals (NCP), and ePro, the only internet designation recognized by the National Association of Realtors. Maria received her Broker’s designation in Hawaii five years ago, and repeated the accomplishment in Guam nearly two years ago. Outside of real estate, she has garnered a two year degree in business from Jones College in Jacksonville, Florida, and has taken numerous banking and appraisal classes. She is currently working to obtain her Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) and Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS) real estate designations.

Maria is the President and Principal Broker of Horizon Properties, Inc. and over the past 3 years the Horizon team has had the pleasure of assisting, mainly Hawaii, investors to purchase over 260 real estate units in Guam, that we are proud and happy to manage on a day to day basis.

When not busy working for her clients, Maria enjoys visiting with her four grandchildren in Ohio, volunteering in the music and drama department at her church, and is beginning to involve herself in community initiatives as well as in different Boards of the Guam Association of Realtors and several Associations of Homeowners.

She has 2 daughters Alana Jean and Akayah Faith, the two main reasons why she tries to better herself as a person. She plans on getting her real estate license this year and someday own her own business. Peter Quenga is a local resident originally from the village of Umatac. He joined the Horizon team in November of 2008 as a property manager with prior experience and has filled the position quite suitably as our "jack of all trades". Peter is a highly motivated individual who is driven by the love and support of his family. He is outspoken, open-minded, and funny but can also display his serious side when it comes down to dealing with business. Above his many attributes, Peter is mostly noticeably a hardworker who does not allow obstacles to stand in his way of accomplishments.

Originally from Guam, Julia comes to us from Colorado Springs, Colorado where she was a Rent Manager and Leasing Consultant and has experienced in all aspects of property management and all the different venues involved from answering phone calls to scheduling vendors as well as walk-through inspections with tenants.  Her pleasant smile, demeanor and personality are a great asset as she is our up-front person who has to deal face-to-face with all the tenants and anyone walking in the door.  Julia  has taken great steps to familiarize herself with all of the leases, landlords, tenants, vendors, utilities, taxes, etc..as well as our new PropertyWare System.

Originally from California, Cecelia recently relocated to Guam from Key West, Florida where she worked as a corporate payroll manager and human resources specialist for a large tour company.  Cecelia is not new to the island of Guam; she previously lived on Guam for three years while working in banking and for one of the Air Force's service operations on base.  She has obtained her Associate's degree in Legal Studies, where she studied business law.  She is now working on completing her Bachelor's in Accounting, with a Minor in Business Administration, and is planning on taking the Uniform Certified Public Accountant Exam within the next few years.  She is looking forward on growing with Horizon Properties as she continues her career in accounting.

Cecelia is married to Derik Blackman, whom she loves to support as he serves in the US Navy.  She enjoys being an active volunteer in the community both on and off military bases and likes to spend her time enjoying the beauty of Guam.

Brian is another one of our local boys and the latest addition to our Property Management Division.  He brings to Horizon his five years of experience in building and ground maintenance.  He also has over four years experience in automotive mechanics, so he is very good at fixing things.

When he is not working, he enjoys spending quality time with his wife and kids.  You can find them at the beach every weekend with friends and family, BBQ'ing and fishing....and sometimes (if he feels lucky) looking for octopus...Yum!
